Five Star Buffet in Woodstock

My mom and I go there all the time. The staff are friendly and if you go there at peak time the food is hot and fresh. There was one time we went later about 1:00 and it wasn't as hot as it could have been, but it was still good. Went on New Year's Eve for lunch and got there about 1. the food was amazing. They've rearranged the furniture so it's open and bright. Really enjoyed it but the dessert could be better. And contrary to what someone posted about the MSG, there is none because I can't have it and I go there all the time. I told them I'd be back on Jan 18 because it was my birthday.Edit: Jan 18 walked in the door and was greeted by the server with a loud "Happy Birthday." A few minutes later she appeared at the table with a gift bag containing a lovely pashmina. How thoughtful. The place was busy and the food was hot and fresh but my friend complained that there wasn't a lot of meat in the chicken balls. Don't care. I don't eat them anyway.

Gone downhill since new owners. Where old ones had roast beef and sushi looks junky with unused dishes and trays. Won't be going back

I used to enjoy it new owners food was started to stick to pans and got there at 520 PM and so not sure how long it was sitting there. Check out your noodle dishes carefully I had a piece of steel stacher in my they only took off 5 dollars. Don't think I will be going back

Very nice server, but man was the food bad. Everything was very old, and we skipped getting a second plate. The sauces were solid on the top, and the food itself was tough. Definitely will not be back.

The restaurant is clean, servers are nice and friendly. Food is average but for the price its what you except .

Cold food. Misplaced item signs. Didnt have a clue what I was eating.Bins not refilled Not impressed!

Not as much selection as I thought there would be. The food was good. Very happy to see they finally have an interact machine instead of cash only.

Food over cooked , one of the waiters reached over my plate, the last time I went the chicken balls were not even cooked all the way! I will never go bad to this place!

My 3 yr old and i go here friday nights.Fantastic customer service. Always so much to choose from.The staff love my daughter and it so cheap. CANT BEAT IT!!!

Kids enjoyed the food, and hubby did too. Just found that the food wasnt very hot and the cold bar was very low on many things. For the money it cost, could have felt better spending it somewhere else

Went in on Valentine's Day , restaurant had maybe 15 people and yet 90% of the chafing dishes were empty . The food that was there was undercooked and lukewarm at best . We brought it to the managers attention the chicken wings were completely undercooked and the food temperatures were incorrect. Coffee was in smallest cup ,no refills ,poor service .won't be back

Great service, friendly but food is so-so .Some dishes too sweet, some of them is too dry. Soup is Good.

Not a very good experience,5oclock not busy,and very little bit of food in the steam table.What was there was cold and appeared to have been the lunch buffet leftovers.

We went for a nice Chinese buffet. Very small food selection. Over cooked food. Chicken skewers were so dry I couldn't eat it. All the sauces seemed watered down. Then I went for dessert and a dead fly was on my cake. This used to be a great restaurant. Now not worth the one star rating.

Called to order soup and the lady on the phone says, "I'm not even sure if they have that, i'm not sure what's in this other one..... etc" she had absolutely NO idea what she was talking about. She did state that the ownership of the restaurant changed August 1st. I'd say you should have enough time to get your stuff together and figure out what your menu is. Holy, NEVER calling back there! That was the worst customer service i've ever had.

The food on the buffet was minimal and left over from the day. The meat was stuck to the bottoms of the pans and dry. We used to love this place but think it may be new owners. The waitress was extremely non attentive.

Worst food and experience ever! Watched cross contamination everywhere! Cold food, dry, empty containers and wouldn't bring out fresh food! Burnt rice in the containers and they mixed in "new" rice so it all tasted burnt! Watched a server pick up food they dropped and put it back in the dish! Don't waste your time or money!

New owners. Less options on the buffet. No longer offer any sushi. Items on the buffet were miss labeled (some shell fish were labeled "general Tao chicken").No locks on bathroom stall doors.

Cold , Old , tasteless and dried up food. Prices have gone up. New owners and the quality has dropped through the floor (and the floor is sticky). Used to be a great place. Never again.

The buffet use to be awesome , tonight it was horrible. Not worth going now. New owners . The rice was not cooked and the lemon chicken tasted like tin. The wonton soup was watered down. The buffet is small , not at all like it was . Will not be going back.

Actually zero stars, worst Chinese food we’ve ever had including selection, appearance of food, taste, temperature. Can’t imagine many more things that they could have done worse. 2 pork dishes, about 6-8 chicken, no beef, only ‘seafood’ was (1) deep fried shrimp and a couple pieces of deep fried ‘fish’. Waitress came by once during our meal, so had to keep stacking dirty plates. Please don’t go there, we certainly never will again. Was much better with previous owner.

Needs a good cleaning. And there was hardly any food at 6pm most of the hot plates were barely full. 2 wontons in the wonton soup. Has definitely gone down hill with the new management. Used to be great food. Would not recommend. Not going back.

The worse Chinese food ever. I arrived at 5 pm and the food was dry from sitting on the hot plate from what seemed like 12 noon. I advised the waitress of this and she said I know i just take the food from the top..What??? Are you kidding me..avoid this place do yourself a favor..

We went for lunch today at 1230 there was no food at all all empty I dont think we will return

Without doubt the worst chinese restaurant that I have been to in 50 years of traveling around North America. There was NOTHING on the steam line and what was there was either old or over cooked

If you want a jello and olive buffet, that's the place to go. If you're looking for variety, skip it.

We went a little later in the evening... 7ish and the food was far from fresh. Taste wise it was good for sitting but even the fortune cookies were stale.

Used to love coming to this place but WOW has it gone downhill... went for supper Friday night at 6:30 and what a disappointment... the selection was very limited with the salad bar being near empty... the back servers area was empty...no sushi, no meat no anything.. the server forgot out drink order.. the table clothes were all dirty and no it wasn't recent spilling... on top of that they raised the prices... we won't be back.

Stay away! We experienced poor service from the staff and the food was even worse. The buffet bins were empty or near empty at dinner with terrible selection. Some of the food was cold too. In fact, even the water was disgusting. When we only saw 8-10 customers in the restaurant we should've taken that as a hint to walk out before sitting down. I won't return.

Feel like it maybe be under new management, or the owners are on holidays. The waitress was the absolute worst. Never greeted us just told us to sit ourselves. Never brought water or came to get our drink order for 15 minutes. Sat behind the counter most of the time we were there. And was still sitting there when we left...never brought us the bill The buffet was very sparse. Not much variety. The dessert choices were stale, the orange slices were dried out and the 3 pineapple slices were rotten. We have been here many times, but will never be back. If you are going to have a very small variety you need to lower the price.
